Chicken Soup For The Preteen Soul

Written by Jack Canfield,
Mark Victor Hanson and
Amy Newmark

382 pages
ISBN #  978-1-935096-73-3

Inspiration and understanding for parents.

I can tell you when I opened this book that a lot of
it I could relate to from when I was in high school
and I am glad my daughter will not have to face it.
But I still have to worry as my son will have to once
he is at that age.
I know its a while away as he is only 3 but as a parent
its just another item for us to worry about.
So I can tell you this book will be in my home library to
refer back to once he reaches this age or any other
children I find struggling with these issues as it did
help to read it and find others have been through this
and survived even though when I was a Teen I did not
think I would.
One of my favorite sections was crushes as my Nephew is
19 and he is engaged to be married and I lived through a
lot of this with him so it was fun to share the book with him.
We where able to talk about my daughter and how she might
have handled and we where also able to sit and wonder how
my son would handle some of these problems.
So if you know of a Preteen Please go and purchase one of
these books then sit down and read it with them because even
though they may say they have no problems they might have as
teens and preteens do not always like to share.

I have been blessed to be able to give 2 lucky winners a copy
of this wonderful book.
So if you would like to enter the giveaway Please follow
@MomsReviews on Twitter
Follow Chicken Soup on there website and
then follow them on Facebook
Please leave the names you are following with so I can verify
the entries

Thomas Gets Tricked~ vaule $14.95

Thomas & Friends: Thomas Gets Tricked

My family is avid Thomas The Train fans, and we each
have our own train. I am Thomas, my husband is
Toby The Boxcar, and Charlie is Charlie, as it is purple
and mommy's favorite color. One day while searching
the net, I found Little One Books and I was hooked.
They have DVDs, music, and movies I can not find in other places.
I contacted them to see if they would work with bloggers and I was told yes and that I could pick one product out to review.
I had so much trouble deciding, as they have books
on trains, firetrucks, and TRACTORS so I finally decided
on Thomas Gets Tricked, and I must tell you, we love it!
There are 7 movies in it; my son likes the singing and
I like that it teaches a lesson.

Published 2010
I would like to tell you something about me when it comes to reading I am so
hard to get to switch from one Author to another it is like pulling teeth but I
registered my son in the reading program at our local library and I must tell
you I am having so much fun seeing his face light up when we get there.
He grabs a cart and if I do not catch him he will empty off two shelves
to bring home with us and we spend endless hours reading. Since I see
him just grab and never look at who writes books I have been more
open on the books I read. I used to only get Danielle Steele or
Jacki Collins or Judith Krants then this year I found Debbie Macomber
and I have read all of the Cedar Cove series as well as the Blossom Street
books. This week we where in the library and on a display I found a book
called Happily Ever After by Nora Roberts and I have heard everyone rave
over her books so the cover was so pretty I decided I would check it out
and see what all the fuss was about and I must tell you I fell in love with this
book. I wll be looking for more of hers. Plus I just found out that this is a series
so I must call my library to request the others as I am anxious to see if they are
as good as this one one.
Happily Ever After is a book about 4 friends who start a Wedding planning
business together all the while building a business and planning there on weddings.
Let me tell you they ladies stay busy but through it all they remain friends the type
of friends we all wish we had growing up. The men they fall in Love with are so
Sexy and kind it is the type fairytale are made of.
If you have not read any of Nora Roberts books then Please go and check these
out as I tell you it will make you wish you had there life.

Visit Nora Roberts' website to learn more about the author, her books and find helpful resources for book lovers of all kinds.

Pretty Women
Fern Michales
ISBN 0-780739-452653
Hardback
Fiction
Copywright 2005
537 pages
Here is another new book I found when I took my son the library to pick up books for him.
You see I am a avid Pretty Women fan and I Love Julia Roberts and I could watch that movie
every single day and never ever get tired of it.
In fact I can tell you it word by word my husband says.
Just like I could Grease.
Opps now I am telling my age. LOL
So when I walked through the library and this book was out on a display I knew I was going
to have to get it and read it.
How could I pass up the title Pretty Women?
Let me tell you I am glad I did as I found I like Fern Michaels witting style too and I want to
go back and see what else she has for me to read.
In the meantime let me tell you about this Pretty Women.
This book in a way reminds me of How Stella Got Her Groove Back or On what ever she did.LOL
You see Rosie Gardner is always afraid people will not accept him because of her weight so she buys
herself a husband.
Now let me tell you finally she sees what she did and how it has affected her life and she gets rid of her
but the things she downs in the end is what you will not believe.
So if you like a bit of a mystry with a love story thrown in then let me tell you your going to love this book.

In Fern Michaels's extraordinary, inspiring New York Times bestseller, an overweight woman sets out to improve her life by losing fifty-five pounds -- and ends up changing much more than her dress size!

Rosie Gardener fell under the spell of handsome Kent Bliss, and not even her best friend Vickie could persuade her that her fiancé was a two-timing cad. Now it's her third wedding anniversary, and Rosie, fed up with Kent's mistreatment, realizes her estranged best friend was right. But the day after kicking Kent out and beginning a diet and exercise regime, Rosie experiences another life-changing event: she wins $302 million in the Wonderball lottery. Now with Kent lurking in the shadows to claim a share of her money, Rosie needs her friends more than ever. As she works out under the eye of sexy personal trainer Jack Silver, a stronger new Rosie emerges -- a woman who wants to learn to trust love once again. Can she keep her vow not to be stopped by Kent's bitterness and her own self-doubts and jump into life with a passion she didn't know she possessed?

I write the photography blog, Through the Lens of Kimberly Gauthier. It’s a blog for amateur photographers who didn’t read their manual. When I purchased my first DSLR camera in 2009, I quickly realized that I was out of my depth and it took me a year to figure out how to use my camera. In 2010, I was thrilled to discover that shooting in manual mode wasn’t as hard as I thought and that’s when the idea of my photography blog started coming to light. In 2011, I started writing in earnest and I’ve been enjoying connecting with other amateur photographers who experienced the same frustrations I had and trading tips and inspiration.

The Exhibition
June 1st through Sept.30th
Irving Arts Center

The show follows his life as a poor illiterate child to the worlds
greatest conquer.

When I saw this job and that I would be able to go and see the exhibit as a ex home school teacher
I knew it was something I had to go see as I know I would have used it in the lessons I taught my
daughter but since she has passed away I was a little sad but once I got to the center I was in awe
as it had been the first time I had ever been there and I must say it is so classy. I was a little nervous
as I took my son who was 3. I was not sure if he would be bored and bog to go but I must tell you
he was as fascinated as I was over the displays. I Loved seeing the passport and the Ger he Loved

all the swords and had to point out the vases for me to see. He was even amazed when we got to
the room with the Mongolian women and I thought it might scare him but it did not. We stood and
listened to the people talk and he stood and just listened. Then we went in to watch the Dancers
and I can tell you he was so amazed and so quite while they danced. I was totally amazed to learn
that they where all 15 to 17 and that they trained in Washington but had been born in Mongolia.
The outfits they had on where so pretty. My son just kept saying look at the dresses mommy.
So when we got home we did some more research on Khan and I helped him make a outfit
like theres to color. Once we left the exhibit he was excited to find a sandbox where he could
dig for items and also make a hat which he has not taken off. I can tell you this was so much fun
for our family that if it ever comes back we will be going to see it again. In the meantime I will
be watching http://www.IrvingArtsCenter.com to see what other shows we can go and check
out as I have a feeling they will have lots of different things my family and I can do. I also
will be following them on Facebook and Twitter @ing the Irving Arts Center
I you would like more information on this show and also to see some of the artifacts Please

5 Conversations You Must Have With Your Son
Vicki Courtney
ISBN 978-08054-4986-0
$14.99
Paperback
Copyright 2001247 pages
As a mom who had a daughter when I was 25 I was told I would
never have another child and I came to terms with that.
Even after she was killed at 16 I was OK.
Then in 2007 God had a different plan for me and I became Pregnant.
I was excited and scared at the same time.
I just knew I was going to have another little girl.
Well God had different plans for me once again and I know have s son.
He is now 3 1/2 he will be 4 on Dec. 16th.
All I can say is where did the time go.
So one day I am sure I will be having all types of conversations with my
son that I never planned on having so when I was asked to review this
book I jumped at the chance as it gives me a heads up on things that
may come up.
I am sure there will be questions that stump me like all parents but at
least I have a reference.
So if you have a young man in your home Please take the time to check
out this book as it covers such things as sex and the nice thing is it refers
to the Bible which not many books do.
This even talks about boys breaking away from there mothers which I dread.
So Please take the time and check it out.
Another item I like about the book is in the back is notes and it also tell us
where to go to check out her husbands blog which is nice to know men do blog.
